Gmarket Haul #10

Order placed on April 8th and 12th. total weight 8.61kg, received on April 23rd.
[2013/01/27] IOPE cushion sunblock shade
[2012/11/12] More on It's Skin Prestige Creme Ginseng D'Escargot
[2012/06/08] Updated with short review on Paldo Kko Kko Myun and Samyang Nagasaki Jjamppong
[2012/07/09] Updated with short review on Beyond Phyto White Ultimate Cream

No picture of the box this time. I missed the delivery (again) so it had to be picked up at the post office. Gmarket used one gigantic box (typical Gmarket, I know) that was too big to fit into my car, so I had to take it apart in the parking lot....and in the rain.

But other than that, everything is great :D

Iope Air Cushion Sunblock in No. 23 + refill
Item# 183968604 (see comment)
Great product but I don't recommend this seller. The manufacture date is 2011.08.04 so there's really no point in getting the refill. I think the seller also removed the extra sponge applicator because some of the older photo reviews showed that it came with one. I've been using it for a few weeks and I'm very satisfied with the product itself. It has less coverage (but enough to improve skin tone) and feels lighter than the Hera UV mist balm. I like both products but this seems to be more suitable for the summer.
[2013/01/27] For some reason Disqus/Blogger wouldn't show a comment that I received on this post. This is for Alice if you're reading... Sorry I don't use MAC so I don't know which shade I would be, I normally use #2 for BB creams. These cushion sunblocks (based on my experience with IOPE and SU:M37) have pretty light coverage, so I don't think it'll be a big problem is the shade is a little bit off.

It's Skin Prestige Creme Ginseng D'Escargot
Item# 253328871
Got this during the 20% sale. It came with some samples of the same cream and the D'Escargot BB cream. Big thanks to Hope-in a blog for the heads up!
[2012/08/16] Just started using this two weeks ago. Not sure if it's because of the weather or if I'm allergic to the Beyond whitening cream, but I've been getting random rashes on my face and neck lately. My sis has had good results with their regular snail cream (and her skin is even more sensitive than mine) so I decided to give this a try as well. It turns out to be a little too rich for the summer but I think it has really calmed my skin down. We're now waiting for the sale next week to stock up on the regular snail cream again (hopefully it'll be on sale...), nonetheless this ginseng version should still work pretty well for those with dry skin or in the winter.
[2012/11/12] Not sure if it's because I'm over-exfoliating or there's a particular ingredient that I've become allergic to but my skin can't seem to handle paper masks anymore. I got bumps and redness after using a Mandom Barrier mask last weekend (which is nice mask btw and I didn't haven any problems previously) and this cream saved me again. I've heard and read some comments about disappointing results with snail creams, which I agree to an extent in terms of anti-aging or moisturizing, but it's been a savior whenever I have these skin "situations".

Hera HD Powder in No. 1 (refill)
Item# 201086527
My excuse for getting this haul :P  I figured it was time to try something else after finishing two jars of the Laura Mercier loose powder. I'm liking this one so far. It's not drying and holds up pretty well other than the T-zone area. Not sure if I'm hallucinating but this powder seems to set better than LM (which can look a little cakey at times..on me anyway.)

Hyosiah Peeling Gel
Item# 211669408
Got the first one a few months back and absolutely loved it. I use it three times a week so my first tube will probably be done in a month or so. My mom is currently using the Daal Story peeling gel and she also has high praises for it. I guess these peeling gels are more of the same so it probably just comes down to which scent you'd prefer.

Beyond Phyto White Ultimate Cream
Item# 217395562
Finally got this after the price went back down to ₩32,300. I've been wanting to try it ever since it was on the Allure Korea list...

[2012/07/09]Just started to use this a few days ago. The texture is very light (even lighter than the emulsions from Sooryehan) but still relatively moisturizing which makes it perfect for the summer. It absorbs quickly and doesn't have a strong fragrance. Even if doesn't end up being effective in whitening, I like this cream enough that I'll probably try other products from Beyond.
On a side note: I had a really bad reaction after using a paper mask, so I won't be going back to this cream till my face recovers. I've never had problems with My Beauty Diary masks until the Hyaluronic Acid and Chocolate Truffle series. Not sure if something has changed but I've developed mild to severe rashes every time I tried them...I guess it's time to throw them out or use them anywhere else other than my face.

Su:m 37 A-Time Essence Gift Set
Item# 255512237
The first bottle that I got in haul# 9 only lasted me two months...I guess I went a little overboard XD This set is even cheaper than the last one, and it also comes with a sample size face cream and a cleansing foam. Not sure if it's the weather or the Iope cushion sunblock, but my face hasn't been as dry at the office as before. I'll wait till the AC is on full-blast before starting this new one.

Etude House Black Head Sleeping Paste
Item# 213763381
I don't usually have much faith in Etude House products but this is one of the better blackhead products that I've tried. It doesn't really get rid of the blackheads but it does reduce sebum so the "situation" looks much better. I ordered the Laneige Blackhead Melting Gel in my next haul so hopefully that will be a positive experience.

Etude House Drawing Eye Brow Pencil
Item# 184832263

Mise En Scene Damage Care Perfect Serum
Item# 246419541
This turned out to be way better than the Etude House Silk Scarf Essence. I can't read the ingredient list but the bottle does say that it contains argan oil, protein, rose water... and most likely a whole bunch of silicones.

Mise En Scene Easy and Speedy Foam Hair Color
Item# 231255873
Bought it for my mom but I'm gonna test it out on my hair first...that is when I can actually find instructions in English.

한초랑 Pads
Item# 222507457
Looks like the seller moved this promotion to item# 222517445. These ones have a very strong herbal scent.

(Starting from the top left) Paldo Kko Kko Myun, Ottogi Peking Jjampong, Samyang Nagasaki Jjamppong
Item# 161429632
Samyang  Nagasaki Jjamppong (left),  Paldo Kko Kko Myun (right)
EPIC FAIL. I've never seen these at the Chinese grocery stores so I assumed they weren't available here. A week after placing the order, I went downtown and saw them at a Korean grocery store (3 out of 4 anyway, still no sign of the Paldo one.) To make things worse, the Best Before dates on these packs are all in July. Anyway I love ramen so I'm pretty sure my family and I can finish them all in a few months. And Best Before =/= Bad After hahahahaha
Afterthought: I like Kko Kko Myun...but I have yet to try Nagasaki Jjamppong so I can't compare them. KKM features a chicken stock with spiciness from Jalapeno peppers, while NJ supposedly is said to have a spicy pork/seafood-based broth. My sis has tried both and said she likes NJ waaaaaaaaay better KKM. She said NJ was a lot spicier and the chicken taste in KKM was just too strong.
Ottogi Peking Jjampong; loved this one too!

  1. Hello!
May i know which mac shade are you? Or whether you usually use #1 or #2 for korean bb creams? Cos I'm considering getting the IOPE air cushion but am unsure whether 21 or 23 suits me better.
    Thanks!

  3. You can try searching for 미쟝센 쉽고 빠른 거품염색약, looks like they cost around ₩6-7,000. Not sure where to get the new one though...
