Gmarket Haul #7

Haul# 7, order placed on 2011-12-29, 9.72 KG
I will update this page with reviews once I get around to trying the products.
[2012/03/12] Updated with short reviews on Mise En Scene hair cream and Dr Jart sleeping mask
[2012/03/19] Updated with short review on The Saem Chagabelhyo Liposome 100 Serum

The Saem link

All three items were on sale (and they still have some pretty good promotions going on right now.) I don't expect much from these products since you get what you pay for. My only complaint (or maybe two) is the huge box that they sent them in and the somewhat pointless gift. Giving away dish soap and fabric softener doesn't really encourage customers to try other skin care products from their brand.

Mom's nagging Hand Cream
Item# 236079705
Small, cheap, smells nice. Possible repurchase if it goes on sale again.

Chagabelhyo Liposome 100 Serum
Item#  225637029
Started using this last week. It has a watery texture but the finish is bit sticky like the YE Power 10 serum from It's Skin. I think it would be too heavy for the summer or those who live in tropical weather. Otherwise, it's nice serum for a great price (I got it on sale for ₩19,800.) My sis mentioned that the Innisfree Green Tea serum has the same sticky finish; she prefers the It’s skin Prestige Serum descargot snail essence which doesn't have this problem.

Gem Miracle Black Pearl O2 Bubble Mask
Item# 225637028
Finally tried this last weekend after getting some English instructions off eBay (LOL...simply apply a thin layer and let it sit for 10 minutes.) It was an interesting experience since I've never used a bubble mask before. I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to achieve but my skin does feel pretty clean afterwards. This is a possible future repurchase, but then again I'd rather try more bubble masks from other brands to see how they compare. Strangely enough, out of all the full-size skincare products I've gotten from Gmarket, only these ones from The Saem don't come with any English or Chinese instructions.

"Gift" from The Saem
Dish soap and fabric softener - they will come in handy when I'm down to the last drop...

Also ordered the Gem Miracle Diamond Peeling but it was out of stock.

Hera UV Mist Balm SPF 33/PA++ (color: 23)
Item# 217050465 - currently out of stock
I wanted to buy this after reading a detailed review on Hope-inablog. My face tends to get oily with BB creams so I've stopped using them several months ago. This compact brightens up my skin tone and effectively hides the pores around my nose area. It's a great product for those who want light coverage or need something for quick touch-ups.

Mise En Scene Sleek & Smooth Damage Care Cream
Item# 181900409
The Sleek & Smooth Damage Care Perfect Serum CF was on almost every commercial break when I was watching TEN. All the hair-flipping must have hypnotized me because it's now a possible item for my next haul. On a side note, Yoo Ji Tae's CF for SKII Men was also on heavy rotation during last two episodes. I normally would fast-forward all the ads but I sat through this one, maybe once or twice :P
Update: Started using this last week, it does help to make my ends softer. I find it more moisturizing than the Pearl Shinning cream (yellow bottle.)

Dr. Jart AGE-X Firming Sleeping Mask
Item# 224737159 - currently out of stock

Update: I don't recommend this. It's sticky and stings quite a bit. I'm using it on my legs now so that it doesn't go to waste. It's out of stock anyway so hopefully they'll discontinue it or improve the formula.

Dr. Jart Black label BB cream
Item# 121760459
Ordered the Black Label but received this Acne BB cream instead...I'm speechless

Items not for myself:

2012 Toffeenut Diary planner
Item# 233856926

LCD Cleaners
Item# 227690415 & 209126448
Many sellers offer this item; I went with this one because the estimated weight was only 0.1 KG.

Etude House Missing U Hand Cream/Bee Happy
Item# 234199779

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Balm (color: 1)
Item# 201925853
This looks very similar to the Hera pact and uses the same type of sponge. I'm not sure how well it works since it's not for myself.

Ryoe Heukunmo Shampoo for hair loss prevention
Item# 156801418

Ryoe Cheongamo Shampoo for dry scalps
Item# 129757119

Galaxy Tab 10.1 cover
Item# 228041072
Short Review: Fits perfectly. What more can I say?

Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Treatment - out of stock
Item# 209618159
I actually stopped using this for awhile because my skin got very irritated at one point (dry patches of skin on my forehead.) I find that it works much better (for me anyway) if I message it for a bit instead letting a thick layer sit on my skin.

  1. Have you try LG ReEn hair loss shampoo?  I find that it works a lot better for me than Ryeo.  It smells a lot better too.

  2. thanks for visiting :)  I bought the ReEn in my last haul too but haven't tried it yet...still have to finish another bottle of mise en scene first.  I kinda like the smell of Ryeo (but i agree that it doesn't do much for hair loss), have you try the Chinese brand Bawang?

  4. You're welcome.  I always like to check out what others are buying on Gmarket( I am a shopping maniac), and most of all a place to learn more about Asian skincare, and cosmetics.  I love the new packaging for ReEn, very luxury.  I haven't heard of Bawang before, do you care sharing a little bit info on it. I am interested in oriental hair care these days to see if it is any better than western. Can you buy it on Gmarket?

  6. hehe, I love reading gmarket blogs too so i figure i might as well post my own hauls :P  Bawang is a herbal shampoo from China; I think it's available on Ebay (probably not gmarket) but i can't say that i would recommend it since it was caught in a scandal (a magazine reported that it contains a cancer-causing substance but the company said it complies with FDA standards...)  I didn't get any noticeable results after going through a bottle, but my mom found it very effective on her gray hair. She said people were asking if she's been dying her hair black lol

  8. Sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier...I think the Damage Care Cream is alright as a leave-in conditioner. It's more moisturizing than the Pearl Shining one but nothing drastic in terms of results. I prefer the Perfect Serum on dry hair more than the cream...it leaves a sheen and doesn't dry out my hair like the Etude House silk scarf essence (awful product hehe...)

  14. Hi, I can't read Korean so I just google translate or match the characters :P The two options contain the same items so you actually have to pick two. I think this seller also sells them individually if you wanna get just one.

Damage Care 2in1 Essence  ->   데미지 2in1 에센스
Damage Care Cream  ->   데미지 영양크림
Damage Care Essence  ->  doesn't seem to be listed
Damage Care Perfect Serum  ->  데미지 퍼펙트 세럼 (<- not sure if you were planning to get this, but I recently got one from item# 246419541 that came w/ a 5ml sample as well.)

    Hope this helps :)

  16. Lol, really.  It helps turning grey root to black.  My mom would love that.   Yeah I saw some article that it has some carcinogenic agent, but it sounded like it was rumored.  But just to be on the safe side, I will skip this one.  Do you used peeling masks or sheet masks often?

  18. I've been using the Hyosiah peeling gel (pic in haul# 8) lately and it's really surprisingly good! It has this gel/lotion texture with beads in it, and they turn into little clumps as I message it. Not sure how well it exfoliates but my face feels really soft afterwards.

As for sheet masks, I'm currently using  My Beauty Diary which is alright but nothing special. I've tried the Dermal masks from Gmarket, but they were really thick so they don't fit very well. Have you come across any good masks on Gmarket? The Hannule whitening mask looked pretty good in the hope in a blog review.

  20. I tried Etude Moistfull Mask and Sooryehan Whitening Mask.   I like both of them, but I only put it on my face for around 20 mins and there was still a lot of essence left for both masks.
